Mother's Day Fun!!

Hey there teacher friends!

Wow I can't believe it is almost the end of the year. It is definitely bittersweet! My cute group of Firsties are such a sweet group this year and I am so proud of them.

Yesterday we completed several activities to talk about our mommas! Our favorite part of the day was making our Mother's Day gits!! I found this cute idea over at SugarDoodle. Check this site out for the craft supplies and recipe.

They turned out so cute!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Snowflakes, Snowmen, Elves, and Gifts!!

Wow! It has been awhile! Hope you all are enjoying your Christmas break. The weeks leading up to break were super busy but so much fun!!

It started with snowmen... we made snowflakes with Popsicle sticks and talked about how every snowflake is unique and how we are all unique. The students loved making them!!

They also made cute snowmen and included a writing about snow. Our class Christmas party was also snowman themed. Here is one of the cute snacks they had!! I found it on Pinterest. Gluten free cake pops with milk!

We also had our classroom elf Pepper visit us from the North Pole the month of December. This is always something the students enjoy. They each had the opportunity to make their own elves which turned out so cute!!!

This year I decided to get my students books for Christmas. I found the book "The Littlest Elf" and thought it would be perfect.

The final product :)

Hope you all have a wonderful New Year!!

Hey there,

It has been too long!! I am trying to work/think ahead and plan for the holidays. This year I want to get my students books for Christmas. I know they will love this because they thoroughly enjoy reading. What are some books that you would recommend for 1st Graders? What do you give your students for Christmas?

Guided Reading Binder...

Over the last few weeks I have been reworking most of the documents I created to use in my classroom. One of the items I was thinking about creating was a guided reading binder packet. Before starting I thought I would check TPT. I found a lot of resources but wasn't sure which one would be the best.

Do any of you have a recommendation(s)?

What are some forms you cannot live without during guided reading?

Thanks,

Something New and Bloglovin'

Happy Summer!! How do you get the word out to families about Scholastic? What is the best way to earn points? I distributed the order forms to my Firsties but wasn't sure how to earn points or how to inform the parents about how to order.

How do you go about this in your classroom?

Also, here is my newest product.

I would love for you to follow me!!

Monday Made It...Student Progress

I was inspired by another form (my amazing teammate made) I use in my classroom. I love the idea of having a form that shows students progress that you can keep for records but also give to parents.

Do you use anything like this in your classroom?

I posted it on my TPT store!!

Centers and Homework for next year...help :)

I can't believe how fast the year has gone!! Throughout the year there were areas I knew I wanted to change for next year. One of these is centers. This year I found free center icons that I laminated and put on the whiteboard. It worked fairly well but I felt like it looked messy as well as took up too much space on my board.

Also, what are some of the activities you have your students do during center time? For my First Graders, I used buckets and have one for writing, reading with a partner, and word work.

I posted several months ago on what I do for homework packets but am ready to change up my cover page layout. I would like to add the spelling the the front page instead of stapling a separate piece of paper to my packet.

Does anyone have any templates they would like to share?

If you have any suggestions or methods you have developed for centers please leave a comment below.

Thanks,

100th Day, Valentine's Day, and More

The last two weeks have been so fun and busy. We celebrated the 100th Day, last Wednesday!! Oh my goodness how fun!! The day was filled with activities. Some of these included fruit loop necklaces, if I were 100 years old writing, 100th day hats, and we all dressing up like we were 100 years old.

We also had our Valentine's Day Party!! On Thursday!! So fun!!

Each child made their own box.  They also made cards for their parents.

Lastly, we have been learning about fractions. My kids made these adorable Fraction-pillars (I found this idea on Pinterest...I did not come up with it). This is my example.

Merry Christmas and Handmade Christmas Thank you Cards

Merry Christmas!! Hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday! With Christmas and my birthday so close together I always have a lot of thank you's to write. This year I have even more to write because I have such sweet students/families!!

This was my project today. I created these inserts for thank you cards to save me some writing. I have not posted them on TPT yet. Let me know what you think and if you would use these.
