I came across a fantastic history resources when visiting Washington D.C. last year and thought I would share the link!! It is through the National Archives in Washington D.C. and there are a ton of resources to use in a classroom!!

Classroom Wall Signs-Freebie

I love cute classroom decor!! I decided to make some cute wall signs. Google docs is not downloading the right font Noteworthy Bold but I can email anyone the original file.


Here is a screen shot of what the font looks like. They have a black background with small white polka dots. The slide show is what would be included.

 

Amazing First Day Back

I had a wonderful first day back!! It was my first job since summer and it felt wonderful to be back in the classroom. The little second graders were adorable and so well behaved. I can't wait to see what other jobs will come my way this year!!

I was also able to meet the new Principal who is phenomenal. I had only been in the office for five minutes when he came walking through and introduced himself. I can't even count how many times I saw him throughout the day.  Each time  he thanked me for subbing .

One of the neatest parts of the day was when I took my class outside for art. Today each class during art class went outside (to the front of the school) and were given the opportunity illustrate a dream they have for the school year with chalk. This was the principals idea he even came and greeted my class and led them to their drawing spot. He then proceed to explain to them what he wanted them to do with the chalk.  How neat is that!! I have never seen a principal so involved with the students.

Just thought I would share.
