Love!!!! this organization idea from Miss Kindergarten

Check out her blog:http://misskindergartenlove.blogspot.com/

Does anyone have a Cricut? Is it easy to use? Do you like it?

I have been searching the web for helpful teacher gadgets and found the Cricut!!  I have difficulty cutting (I have CP) so I thought this would be a great investment.  I want to get some opinions as to whether it is easy to use.

What are some of things you can make or do with it? I would love to see some pics!! :)

If there are any other classroom gadgets that you love please fill free to leave a comment about it!!

Thanks

A new post and behavior management linky party!!

I am a newbie teacher and have been thinking about behavior management and what my plan would look like. I started to think about what other teachers effective plans might look like.

Spread the news and share your ideas/plans!! I love getting great new ideas!!

Tentative Behavior Plan

I am working on writing up a behavior plan and wanted to get some awesome teacher opinions on what I have so far.
I have applied for a k and 1st position that is why I only have those grades on the behavior plan.  I have heard I should focus more on the positive from other teacher forums but I think that students need to learn they are responsible for their own actions.  If you have a more simple plan that doesn't involve the flipping of cards that works awesome with these grade levels please let me know.

Again this is just a rough draft but I think it would work.  I am thinking of omitting the group points to make it less complex because they are younger.  What do you think about this? Please give comments about each section as I am a newbie teacher I love suggestions.

If you would be willing to share your behavior plan please leave a comment and I can send you my email.  Thanks.

Here it is:

Behavior Management Plan

For First Grade

Rules
 1. Be kind to your classmates.
2. Listen and follow directions.
3. Raise hands and wait to be called on before speaking.
4. Keep or hands, feet, and objects to ourselves.
5.Show respect for all teachers, classmates, and school property.
6.Do your best every day.

Card System

Green-Great Day
Yellow-Verbal Warning, student changes behavior
Red-Student misses five minutes of recess
Blue-Student misses all of recess and there is a call home to parents

Each student starts off on green. If they are given a warning they move to yellow and change their behavior. If students are on red they miss five minutes of recess. If students move to blue students will miss all recess and parents will be contacted. If students stay on green all week they get to choose a “way to go” prize.
These prizes include: Eat lunch with teacher ticket, 5 extra minutes computer time, (need more choices).

-Students will also have the opportunity to change their card back to a more positive color (their goal is to get back to green) if they improve their behavior during the day. This makes them responsible for their actions.  At the end of the day students fill out their behavior chart (below). Parents must sign form if students are red, or blue. These forms are sent home daily with students.

Way To Go Tickets
When students show GREAT behavior i.e. following directions when given, walking in the hallway silently, helping a classmate when appropriate, etc they can earn “Way To Go” Tickets (there names are written on them). At the end of the week students tickets are placed in a bucket and only five tickets are drawn. These students will have the chance to pick a prize from the “Way to Go box”. These prizes include: Eat lunch with teacher ticket, 5 extra minutes computer time, (need more choices).

(MAY OMIT)
Group Points

I also do "group points."  There are ___ groups in my room and they earn points when the whole group does something appropriately... going quietly through transitions, paying attention to instructions, etc.  At the end of the week, the group with the most points gets (I am trying to think of some ideas)
